The Arundel table features in the January edition of WORLD OF INTERIORS. In an article written by Ruth Guilding who has recently published a wonderful book on English collecting, called 'Owning the Past', the table was photographed at Albury Park, the Surrey estate of Thomas Howard, 14th Earl of Arundel whose friend John Evelyn, designed its Italianate gardens. The table of course, had always been in Arundel House in the Strand, London, shipped from Rome in 1626 and designed to fit in with the 14th Earl's large collection of Greek and Roman sculpture, and to support a large pietre dure top - now long lost. The supports, as the article explains, ended up at Easton Neston. A full description can be found by going to the link below.
