Set of Eight Walnut Dining Chairs by Edward Barnsley
English, Circa 1960
Including two armchairs, with drop-in green leather seats.
These chairs are very similar to a set of mahogany chairs made for the Minister of Education in 1960 and later used, in the 1970s, in the Ministry of Arts (see Annette Carruthers, Edward Barnsley and his Workshop, Arts and Crafts in the Twentieth Century, 1992, fig. 85, p. 168).
