Provenance :- Private Collection, Australia, bought in England, c. 1930; Bank of England, London.

The old Bank of England building in Threadneedle Street in the City of London, designed by Sir John Soane (1753-1837), was demolished after 1925 and replaced by a much larger building on the same site, designed by Sir Herbert Baker and completed in 1939. This present table must have been sold from the Bank during this time.
